Well we finally made it to our summer vacation. We decided to keep it close and we drove to Chicago. We set up TV's in the back for the boys to watch. Sharon and I sat on both sides of Kennedy, and the guys did all the driving and navigating.
While we were there we spent our first day at Shedd's Aquarium, where the boys' favorite part was watching the sting rays and the sharks. After touring all of the aquariums we walked over to the Field Museum. This is where "Sue" is. The kids are in front of a dinosaur that was discovered in 1990. (I have a great family picture, but do not have the software to turn it!)
The next day we spent time in the Planitarium, this had some fun things to do, but did not keep the kids attention for too long. We tried to watch a show in the omnimax about "Black Holes", but it scared the crap out of the boys.
After the planitarium, we took a water taxi to The Navy Pier. The Pier is a cool place to hang out if your single, have $8 to spend on a beer and nothing but time to waste. We walked thru the shops, tasted the sweet treats and of course we had to go to Build a Bear, because we don't know what that place is - you would think they should build one in St. Louis, oh wait they did! Anyways it was fun, the kids picked out their favorite animal and outfit. If we are going to spend $25 on a souvenier, at least it was worth it!
